Summary

Creates a dedicated cargo theft task force within the Arizona Attorney Generals office.

Issue

Creates a cargo theft task force within the Attorney Generals Office staffed with prosecutors and investigators to combat cargo and freight theft. Task force would focus on organized and repeat theft offenses involving cargo transported or stored within the supply chain, including theft from commercial motor vehicles, railcars, and intermodal containers, and would coordinate with law enforcement agencies and industry stakeholders.

The amendment subjects the Task Force to legislative appropriation.
