Summary
Places length restrictions on trains carrying hazardous material.
Issue
Provides that no railroad shall operate, or permit to be operated, any freight or work train carrying hazardous material that exceeds eight thousand five hundred feet in length on any part of a main track or branch line.
Any railroad or person who willfully violates or orders someone else to violate the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a class D misdemeanor for a first offense and shall be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars. A class C misdemeanor for a second offense and shall be punished by fine not to exceed seven hundred dollars. A class B misdemeanor for a third or subsequent offense and shall be punished by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars.
