Prohibits freight train carrying hazardous material to exceed 8,500 ft. Establishes penalties.

Prohibits railroads to operate or permit to be operated,
any freight or work train carrying hazardous material that exceeds 8,500 feet in length on any part of a main track or branch line. A first offense is a class D misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500. A second offense is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $700. A third or subsequent offense is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $1000.
