Authorizes study to determine the feasibility of expanding freight railroad service within the state.

This bill authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Transportation to conduct a study regarding the feasibility of expanding freight railroad service within the state. The study will include analysis of the economic and environmental impacts of such expansion, the potential for building additional intermodal railroad yards, and the availability of capital grants from the federal government for such projects. Also directs the commissioner to complete and deliver the report to the Governor and leaders of the Assembly and Senate within one year of enactment.
